Our Philosophy
What is important for us?
At Phonoman we prioritize time‑domain fidelity above all: transient accuracy is the single most important factor in reproducing lifelike sound. Our design philosophy centers on minimizing smear and ringing so each attack; consonant and percussive detail arrives with natural speed, clarity and spatial definition.
Why impulse response matters?
Impulse response (rise time, decay and ringing) determines how faithfully a driver renders fast events and spatial cues. Excellent frequency response means little if transients are smeared; precise impulse behavior yields realistic dynamics, instrument separation and intelligibility.
Why Al‑Mg membrane?
Al‑Mg offers an ideal stiffness‑to‑mass balance: low moving mass for rapid acceleration, high stiffness to push breakup modes out of the listening band, and predictable material damping for controlled decay. This combination preserves attack and detail while suppressing audible resonances.
Phonoman technical pillars:
- Optimized Al‑Mg membrane: proprietary alloy and profile for pistonic motion across the working band.
- Tuned micro‑damping: nanocoatings and internal treatment that remove ringing without adding perceptible mass.
- Geometry & FEM‑driven shaping: reduces modal coupling and ensures uniform phase behavior.
- Matched motor & suspension: low mass voice coil, short gap and low‑hysteresis surround for linear, fast response.
- Time‑domain validation: impulse/step and energy‑time measurements guide final tuning, not just frequency graphs.
What you hear?
Cleaner, instantaneous attacks; tighter, faster bass; clearer vocals and transients; improved imaging and separation — sound that feels more present, accurate and emotionally engaging.
